Struggled to get to this capsid which was on a flower on one of the shrubs. Despite moving slowly, the angle and the branches of the plant conspired to make it awkward and this is the only one I got where you can see the damned eyes!

Great shot Paul, I hate it when you have to be a contortionist to get the the shot! I've nearly put my back out a few times now :(

This spider was in an easy position for change though. This was also shot in the dark using a torch and the focus lights on my MT-24 twin flash. Shot with an MP-E65 at 1.5x magnification.

Fantastic detail Jason - these ladies are great subjects.

This could take an even tighter crop I think - right on the head, inside the legs from the left hand side.

Paul.

Thanks Paul, I did try a tighter crop actually but for some reason it didn't look right to me, I may have another mess about with it tomorrow when my eyes are more open :)

Paul, where do you find all those bugs? Best I can do is find a bee here and there.

first attempt at fire works . This was taken at a very dark field tonight . Lots of drunks so I had to have my hand on the tripod , for fear of it getting knocked over . Bottom line the 70d did well

I only have a small garden - and most of the bugs come from there:

This ladybird flew past me and landed on the ground by my feet. I placed her in the short grasses of one of our planters where she climbed onto a brown withered leaf and stopped for a few moments.

My wife has a pretty big garden but I think she kills most anything that moves so they won't eat her flowers .

Some photos from yesterday, a nice and beautiful city in São Paulo, Campos do Jordão.

The 70D is a amazing camera! It's in another level compared with others DSLR's, perhaps the other brands will follow Canon with the new features. The touch screen is very handy, I'm very satisfied with this camera.

11 portrait photos in this pano:
