Some photos from yesterday, a nice and beautiful city in São Paulo, Campos do Jordão.

The 70D is a amazing camera! It's in another level compared with others DSLR's, perhaps the other brands will follow Canon with the new features. The touch screen is very handy, I'm very satisfied with this camera.

Fantastic image! Can you expand a little bit more on "The 70D is a amazing camera! It's in another level compared with others DSLR's"? What was the previous body you came from and in what ways do you find it on another level? Is it the features, the IQ, other? Keep in mind I'm not disagreeing or challenging your statement, I'm asking to gain some perspective on your experience.

ct1co2, thanks my friend. I'll try to explain, it's a little difficult because English is not my native language, sorry about by the mistakes. ;)

In the Canon side I have used these cameras:

T3, T2i (twice:p), 60D (twice ), T3i and 5D Mark II

I was a little disappointed with the same APS-C sensor that Canon have used for the last years. T2i, T3i, T4i, 60D and 7D has, with a little differences, the same IQ and resolution.

The 70D came with a new sensor, new AF system, very similar to a 7D, a touch screen, new amazing AF, which uses on-chip phase-detect (Dual Pixel CMOS AF technology), a lot of compression option for video, wi-fi and the possibility to control the camera using smartphones and tablets and more.

It's very nice to use, I believe that the new cameras will come with all almost features from 70D.

I'm really sorry that I can't explain so clearly my thoughts about the 70D, thanks for the patience.

Well, few more photos!!! :D

Lives in the outhouse (there are 2 in there, but I couldn't get them close to each, so not sure of the sex of the second one) and this male just stared right back at me.

It was on the second brick up from the ground, so I was laid on my side, camera on a bean bag, using live view and manual focus. Flash mounted with softbox on.

For those that have upgraded from a previous body, to what extent are you seeing a bump in IQ?

now we're talkin... my kind of shooter

what is your previous crop sensor body and how do you like the AF system of the 70D?

I recently decided I'd get the 70D in spring 2014 but changed my mind... its looking more like Dec 26th 2013... ;)

also - please share your AF settings/mode/zone if applicable for these shots and how you found the experience and even its weaknesses...

Thanks, 70D has better color and sharpness than 7D ( I owned 3 copies). AF wise, still trying to see improvement over 7D in various challenging conditions but it is safe to say it is as good as 7D for now (maybe a bit better but needs vigorous testing).

Ruhiaknt

Thanks for the reply - I've been impatiently awaiting a 7D owner to chime in regarding the AF of the 70D.

I am not concerned about the 70D having 'better' AF over the 7D... but how and in what ways is the 70D equal to the 7D or at least likely better than the 60D in regards to capturing moving subjects such as birds?

The 70D is glaringly devoid of the 7D's "expanded Center Focus" so obviously Canon is keeping this feature as a Premium Feature for the 7D II (and 1DX, 5D3 [I think]).

Long story short: for Birds in Flight Shooters - is there an advantage to shooting with the 70D 'Versus' the 60D for a higher keeper rate? Period.

Thank-you for anything you can share.

I'm not a "pixel peeping" guy :D but looking the photos in DPP, the best way to achieve the best results in sharpness and color, there is a improvement. More dynamic range, really sharp, even with 18-135 STM, a great and usable ISO 3200, well, just my first initial impressions. ;)
