Exactly, 'current price' now. Or the 'current price' at the time of renewal? I dont think its clear.

It isn't intended to be clear. The main goal with marketing isn't to give absolute answers, but to catch customers.

My current CS6 and LR4 box programs allows me to put a copy on two personal computers. Can we still do that with the cloud?

Thanks for finding that for me and posting the link. Both programs for $10.00 a month is a good deal. Good deal as long as the price doesn't start climbing like the USA postal rates.:lol:

I had the following reply from Adobe RE Prices & contract renewal.

  • Price at time of renewal - we don't have plans to change the price, but prices may go up or down.
  • Contract is automatically renewed unless you contact us to cancel
  • You'll be emailed before the end of the 12 month period with the new price. You have the option to cancel 30 days before or after your annual renewal date.

I stated earlier that $10.00 a month sounded like a good deal. I should have asked before saying that if that deal comes with the CS6 & LR5 programs. Or do you have to buy the programs first and each time there is a new release (ie: LR4 to LR5)? That would make this a bad deal IMO if that is the case.

Subscription, so any new updates gets announced to you. You then decide when you want to download the updates. But once into the program you have a fixed monthly cost until Adobe decides to adjust that fee.

I understand about update the existing version of a program someone already has but does that include upgrading you to new version releases? Example: I current have LR4, will this new C/C update me to LR5 or do I have to buy LR5?

No. As long as you have CS3 or better you get the latest versions of both PS and LR.

Yes, but the subscription is "for the service of having these programs", so it's for the latest version - and the bad part here is that for most of the programs in the creative cloud, they have stopped releasing new "eternal" licenses so the subscription is the only way to get the updates.

Lightroom, on the other hand, have been specifically named as a product that they will continue to offer as a normal perpetual license too - a license where you have the traditional need to pay to upgrade when newer versions are released.

I might eventually get Lightroom but I like PS layers and other features that Lightroom doesn't seem to provide

I have three computers that I use, but never more than one at a time. Desktop at home, desktop at work, and laptop on the road. I don't understand why the license is not per user rather than being limited to two computers. I suppose the software can't check for concurrent usage.

I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy.
