Received my copy today, its a sharp lens. It also helps that it doubles for macros and portraits.

Doesn't seem to be that many people using this lens, not as many as it deserves anyway. Some great photos there Mariosworld and I really like the colors on that last one there Dirk!
Picked up my copy a few weeks ago so really new at this macro thing but thought it's time to flesh out this thread a bit.

The first image I took when I got home with this lens is below. Hand held, testing out the VC (used a flash also). Still have lots to learn about macro. Love the lens, was lusting after it for a bit. It beat out the Canon 100mm 2.8 as well as the 100 2.8L. Both are fantastic lenses, I just felt this was better. Much better balance than any macro I have used thus far.

Lens is outstanding, feel like its a sleeper. More people need to become aware of its potential.
Really enjoying the VC. I found VC/IS/OS to be borderline useless in terms of useable stops when hand holding in lower light at macro distances. However, it makes a huge difference when hand holding and steadying the viewfinder. My macro skills are basically non existent, but this really helps the motion that breathing and heart beats cause.

I took a look at a few macros tonight at the camera store while making a print order. The Tamron 90mm VC was one of them. Out of the 4 I tried, this Tamron and the Canon 100L were the best. Just a test shot:
