Wow, this is promising to turn into one of the all-time great threads on POTN! Bravo!

If I don't get the shots I want with the gear I have, the only optics I need to examine is the mirror on the bathroom wall. The root cause will be there.

The nightime motion blur shot of the Edificio de Correos is gorgeous.

The Edificio de Correos is generally known as the Palacio de Cibeles and was the former Palacio de las Communicaciones - the headquarters of (then) postal communications, now the state postal company Correos. It's no longer in their hands. It's a stunning building, as are several in that area ... difficult to get a clear shot of during the day with lots of traffic as the Castellana extends down Recoletos and the Paseo del Prado.

To the OP: thanks for posting these, they remind me of the beautiful landmarks as I saw them when I first visited Madrid. Now I walk (or cycle) past them all too often and all too quickly, now I'm living and working here ... you packed a lot into two weeks as well between Andalucia and Madrid.

Some of the HDRs aren't for me, but others are spot on, like the first picture of the opening post, that one is spot on.

^yup, there's a lot of traffic there (cars and people) so it was difficult to find a clear shot. For some pics, I took, I was on the little area where the traffic lights are. I'm glad you enjoyed the pics. Yes we did pack a lot into 2 weeks. I completely agree a few of the HDR pics are too much, and that was just me playing around to see how far I could push it. But I do like to keep most of them subtle when I do use it (like that first one you like).

Easiest way to find the limit - going too far. For me HDR is best when you think it's been used but are not quite sure - the first one was like that for me, I was thinking you might say it wasn't.

Fantastic shots! I was in Barcelona for 7 days last month. HDR is put to great use here - particularly Sagrada Familia and Santa Maria del Mar. I shot handheld at high ISO in those locations and the results just don't compare. Great city, good times!

Yup, you just wrote out what I was thinking when I was processing them.

Thank you. Btw, that last shot was the Barcelona Cathedral.

Really love your shots.
I am going to spain myself for a few months soon but will mostly be in small villages in the countryside.
So not that much big, amazing, architecture but your shots made me look forward to it even more :)
