Just snagged a 100 F/2.8 L Macro. Also forgot the ship75 and emailed to see if they could add for faster shipping. Not a big deal as all shipping is free, but nice if quicker.

Got my "ready to ship" email with tracking number just now. The number isn't in the Fedex system yet.

I just received a Speedlite 430EX II Refurbished from Canon, with the discount. As others have said, it looks new - no evidence it was every used at all.

I'm curious about something: The warranty sheet that came with it says refurbished products have a 1 year warranty, but it does not apply "If the Product has been used for commercial, professional, or industrial purposes". This doesn't affect me, but I assume some (many?) of you people buying refurbished products from Canon are pros, and use the stuff professionally. Does that mean you get no warranty coverage at all?

My lens is supposed to be delivered on Friday. Fedex is giving me a hard time about having it delivered to the local Fedex authorized shipping outlet, though, because it's not a dedicated Fedex office. Looks like my only choice is to be here when they try to deliver it (which won't work) or drive 35 miles to the Fedex depot (which sucks).

That 17-40mm is tempting.

I pulled the trigger on one. It got here yesterday. It's great for what I need it for; mostly landscapes and such. I used to have the 16-35mm f/2.8 II and with both lenses at f/5.6 and higher I don't see a $1000 IQ difference. Honestly other than the 16-35mm II being one stop faster I see no tangible difference at all between them for landscape use...

No, I'm not trying to start the old 16-35mm II vs 17-40mm IQ debate again... ;) I loved the 16-35mm II but I sold it to fund my RRS TVC-34L and BH-55... the stability of the RRS tripod made more IQ difference in my landscape shots than any lens I've bought since the 24-70mm II. I thought about getting the Rokinon 14mm or the Tokina 16-28mm (both superb lenses) but they can't use filters and that was a must have for me. The Tokina 16-35mm f/4 is very nice too, and I was leaning that way, but it's not demonstrably better in IQ, it's about the same price, and it uses expensive 82mm filters (it does have a better warranty though). The Canon 17-40mm at this price, with it's very good IQ, and with it's 77mm filter size, it fit the bill perfectly.

My lens is on the Fedex vehicle for delivery. I had to have it shipped to a local lawn care company I work with and they start very early and leave before 3. I hope Fedex gets there before they close.

I couldn't be there for delivery, which is why I had it shipped to them. But they were there. It's in my hands now.

Now I need to find some bugs.

Wow pretty good for a refurb lens. Congrats.

Finally got my 70-200mm f4l. Wow looks really like a brand new one I am a happy camper and tried a few shots just to make sure everything is ok.
