Nice.....so how do you like it so far?

Lens is amazing!! It's much better than the 50L I had and liked that lens a lot. Sharpness is phenomenal when I nail focus even wide open. Contrast is great and almost has a 3D pop at times.

I do find it tougher to focus at 1.4 compared to my CV 35mm 1.2 wide open (longer fl I suppose).

I need some help. Should I get the Zeiss 50mm f/2 or the Leica 50mm summicron? The Zeiss is $800 and Leica $1500. Is the Leica worth the extra money?

Not for me.

Zeiss has more contrast. The sharpness differences, if there are any, are negated by focus inaccuracy. Zeiss has better bokeh. The corners I don't care for, because I can focus accurately only on the center of the frame.

When I shoot film I like to shoot into the sun for a high key image. I've read the reviews and every one states the contrast on zeiss planar is better.

I'm becoming relaxed about gear I use. I find second best zeiss primes adequate for my intended purposes. ;)

Ah thanks for the input. I was pretty set on getting the Zeiss until I found a summicron for for that price.
