Sorry if I posted this before but here's the M Monochrom at high ISO. Check out how the noise structure has a slight resemblance to film grain.

Wow, that's incredible.

I remember pushing B+W film, and having the grain look worse than your 100% crop.
That it's a crop like that is incredible (I'm still amazed at how far digital has come)

The sharpness in that crop isn't bad either.

I'm looking forward to getting my Leica (M240 and 50 summicron to start with) next year

No - the older one (still brand new though)
For the price (here, at my local leica dealer) i would get a Summilux over the new ASPH 'Cron (i shoot inside and at night a lot) but the budget doesnt quite stretch that far at the moment.

28 and a 90 next then an ultra fast 50

Local new prices are
50 summicron - 2400
50 summilux - 4300
50 summicron ASPH - 8200

It will be used for work, so i have to buy new

So I hear.
I am doing a lot of reading about the Leica system, I want a smaller lighter camera with good image quality, I love my X100, but there are many things about it that irritate me.
The Leica M system seems to fix all of them, and be a camera that will push me to be a better photographer, whilst being compact, fairly light (compared to a 1Dmk4 I carry at work) easier to focus accurately in low light and having an array of wonderful lenses, and superb image quality.
Oh, and my #1 thing, a proper optical viewfinder

I also have a thing for beautifully made stuff that feels nice to use.
