Canon Powershot GX50 moon shot:

$$$$$ to get that using DSLR. My 7D + 2x II + 70-200 IS II L + tripod doesn't touch that:

I have Canon gear. SX1 IS, two 7D bodies and mostly f/2.8 lenses 10mm-200mm, doubler, and 17/4 TSE, some 580EX IIs. Additional portable lighting gear, and tripod with 360 pano mount. Want two 7D II bodies.

So you shot a vid of the moon w/ the gx50? @ 1080p I'm assuming.

It seems to me 7D + 2x + 70-200 still puts more pixel on target. (when comparing the 7D to the 1920-1080 resolution of the video). Your exposure settings were terribly off for the 7D on the shot.

7D + 100-400L can yield results like this:

Not saying the GX50 isn't a great little tool. But I'd be curious how the GX50's still photo compares.

Nope, not my vid or camera.

My lunar pixel width: 824 of 5184, 15.9% of image width.

:( Yes, it was rushed and the Moon was receding rapidly from my angle of shot.
