Living, Island Style is an ongoing project that aims to expose the wonderfully unique architecture of Iceland and the history behind it. Owing to its location near the Arctic circle and the unparalleled environmental conditions faced by settlers, Iceland's architecture evolved to form distinct styles that aren't found anywhere else on earth.

My favorite is #1. There are times when symmetry works. In this case, the dog and lamb in their "crossed" postures add the right (small) amount of softness to relieve the severity of the building.

PRONOUN ADVISORY: OhLook is a she. | A FEW CORRECT SPELLINGS: lens, aperture, amateur, hobbyist, per se, raccoon, whoa, more so (2 wds.), shoo-in | IMAGE EDITING OK

Thanks guys. OhLook, I appreciate the great feedback - and good point! Fun to see when someone picks up the little nuances of the shot like that.

 They probably will. It just takes time. You took something (influence) and pushed it beyond what Baltz did and made it your own (the steroid comment) and I can usually tell your work. ;)

Fantastic series. All shots are extraordinary. I have been on Iceland for some years ago and looking now at your photos I have the same feeling of tranquility in the air. I like your style, breaking rules gives astonishing results. Congratulations.

Lovely shots. Really like the composition -- front and centre! And the lighting is fittingly dramatic. These two are my favourites...
