I finally got a hold of a Nikon 105mm F2.5 Non-AI lens and my Fuji adapter arrived just two days ago.

This thread is pushing me toward dumping my 7d setup and going all Fuji, with an X-E1 and a few lenses. It sure would be nice to be able to walk into a sporting event with a camera again... or snap some photos at Disneyland without being looked at like I'm a criminal.

For those of you using the X-E1/X-Pro1 for flash/speedlight photography, what kind of setups are you using, and how do you like it?

I currently use a couple 430exIIs, plus most of what I shoot is outdoors or on-location. I find myself having to overpower ambient light quite often, so I'm not sure I want to trade my 1/250 sync speed for the 1/180 sync speed of the X-E1 quite yet.

I'm already sold on this system... it's just a matter of whether I'm going to sell off my current setup and go to this ASAP, or keep my current gear and get the Fuji to supplement it down the road.

Any feedback would be much appreciated.

Might I suggest the X100/X100s cameras? They use a Leaf shutter which is super quiet and can easily sync as fast as 1/1000 sync speed and beyond. I'm sure Ni$mo or Rick would be able to get you better feedback regarding the X-E1 than me since they do more studio work.

I terms of using flash I actually found Canon cameras more simpler to use, less hoops to jump through.

Something from this past Saturday, I really enjoyed using the Nikon 105 NON-AI lens with the x-pro1. The EVF seemed to do a good job, but if the subject kept moving side to side then I get a lot of lag trying to track them. None the less here are some images with itm no flash used.

Thanks for the feedback, Bond... much appreciated.

I do like the X100s quite a lot, but I'm trying to stick with a system. The X-E1 with a couple of fast primes and a long zoom just seems like a great kit to shoot with... and something that I won't mind carrying around all day. However, there are times where I need to do some OCF work with speedlights, so I need to have that available to me when those particular projects come up.

Looks like I might have to keep all of the Canon kit... not a bad thing... I'm just really looking forward to adding a Fuji X-body to the bag so I can start shooting with it ASAP. I guess I'll have to do some spring cleaning and see what I can put up for sale.

Anyone interested in a Gini video rig w/follow focus? The proceeds of the sale will go to a good cause (be-cause I need an X-E1 in my life!) ;)

Very first post. Picked up the X-E1 nearly 2 months ago. This thread helped me come to the decision to pick this camera. I absolutely love it!
