At least you didn't frame too much of it then :)

I like the shot a lot, if you want to get rid of the overcast feeling it portrays, maybe pump the saturation up a tiny bit more and set it to a slightly hotter white balance (making the image somewhat warmer).

just playing with Lightroom's Adjustment Brush, I painted the sky using a cool/blue white balance. I'll PM the result if you wish. I just wanted to see how it worked and it mainly did. Better with practice.

You could also try LR's gradient filter tool. I've had reasonable success adding color (blue or other) to dull or blown out skies.

that was the first thing I tried and I hear ya but then the cold/blue white balance cooled the mountains too much and if its blue sky - they should have a warmer WB

After selling this lens so many times, I bought it back today. I just cannot live without this lens.

I advised a craigslist seller not to sell it. He asked me why, here's what I wrote back :D

I regretted selling this lens because:

1. Best price performance ratio L lens.

2. If you don't go looking at MTF charts, it is as sharp as most lenses you would use.

3. Extremely useful range 24-105 on a full frame. It sounds good on paper etc, but having owned various range of lenses right from 14mm primes to 70-200L at the same time, the usefulness of the range becomes SO much more apparent. I cannot stress this enough! 24mm is the just enough wide angle and 105 is just enough tele.

4. Excellent build/weather proofing.

5. Great Image Stabilization that actually makes a difference.

6. Excellent optical qualities - typical of an L lens. People complain about vignetting on this lens, but that's a non-issue with lens profile corrections in DPP and LR.

7. Although somewhat of a moot parameter these days, but a constant f/4.

8. Excellent "macro" mode, further enhanced by using extension tubes!

I ABSOLUTELY love this lens. :) I can leave it on the camera and not need another lens. But that's the thing, it sounds like a boring lens on paper, but it is the perfect workhorse. Sorry about the lecture. :D

I find it a little funny that I'm "selling" this lens to the seller who I was trying to buy it from. :D

Good day!

Please, I'd love to see the result, and if possible the details of the modifications you did.

I'm still new to Lightroom, I still have a lot to learn, for sure :)

Thanks everyone for the feedbacks.

When I first bought this lens I was "luke warm" about it. Now that I have had time to use it in a variety of situations I have to agree that it is the most versatile lens in the bag.

Thanks everyone for the feedbacks.

you can easily do it yourself by going into the HLS Panel on the right in Lr Develop Module - and adjust the Hue/Saturation/Luminance

For greening greens:

Hue: move the yellow slider to the right - this adjusts all yellows in your image to become green. This is quite effective because in many cases - leaves and grasses are more yellow than green - and green always looks more 'lush'. Also helpful for blah-looking grasses and reeds, etc.

The caveat here is that 'All' Yellows will turn green, including yellow on dogs or clothing on people...

The other hue slider to 'slightly' adjust' is green. But too much makes it a green-blue, which is usually undesirable.

Saturation slider: increase the green, and in some cases maybe 'slightly lower' the yellow.
Again - green is a combination of yellow and blue - and there are many different shades of green in nature, so season to taste

Luminance: Decrease green, this makes greens darker

Above all - always try to make nature look realistic - but on the 'lush' side.

Blue Sky:

excluding 'Hue' above - you can do the same types of things to bring out any blue in the sky using Saturation and Luminance.

you can also decrease Highlights to make a sky a deeper blue.

To paint in a blue sky over a dull cloudy one - use your Adjustment Brush to carefully paint the sky using a cool white balance, reduce feather so it does not spill onto your horizon. Again, even a little blue in the sky is preferable to an unnatural looking sky so keep it real...

this was a quick fix but its over-baked, just showing the transformation that can happen
