Superb stuff Mark. Love the Lions and Rhino. Where were you? Cindy and I are in Africa right now (Zambia & Zimbabwe) but the assignment is more adventure trips not full on safari stuff but have bumped in to the odd animal along the way. Can't wait to see more from your trip. Keep them coming!

geez Mark you must have had a big suit to take all those stuffed animals! ;)

Any Crocs? Zebra's is great, one animal I couldn't get a decent shot of on safari as they always legged it.

It is still very much a work in progress, I'm just getting the basic layout and trying to make it look cleanish, but what is everyone's first thoughts?

I'm undecided on the website name, I might change it? (was her choice not mine..)

Hope everyone has a good day!

I like it especially the menu at the top. Agree with others re the name, like it and can't believe it is/was still free

cheers all, sorry for all the spam and the bad spelling..

JD I started in Joberg and spent the first few days in Pilanesberg National Park in a 5 star lodge which was very nice and relaxing, we (me and my bruv) went on the normal morning and evening game drives which was a nice easy way of seeing the animals but it was a bit like a drive round a safari park to be honest but still fun to see the animals rooming free. All the reserves no mater how big are fenced in SA so its really like a big Richmond Park with animals that would like to kill you in.
Next stop was Kenya, we took off from Joberg Airport on the day that the terrorist thing was going off in the shopping centre which was a tad worrying, we met the group of photographers in a cafe in the airport and off we went, when we landed in Narobi we had armed guards escort us to the baggage claim and then onto the bus that took us to a small airport where we would get a small 45 minute flight to the Masai Mara, the plane was a twin otter (whatever that was) and really old, to say I didn't like the flight was an understatement, I felt like I was in an Indian Jones movie and I was waiting for the pilots to jump out and any time! Anyhow we sort of landed somehow on a dirt strip in amongst thousands of wildebeest and zebras, they had to clear the air strip before we landed of the animals with a mini bus, they were everywhere, now these animals can roam free between country there are no fences anywhere...
We spent the next 3 hours driving around down to the camp, unbelievable, I just cant explain the sights I saw in the first few hours, thousands and thousands of animals, as far as the eye could see on open plains, herds of elephants, zebra, wildebeest, giraffe, impala etc etc it was a bit over whelming to be honest, I didnt really take any photos for a while as I didnt know where to start! until we came across these two cheetah boys having a rest on a mound looking over the plains.

And that was really the start of a fantastic adventure, the camp was right on the river bank in the middle of the reserve, we were the only ones staying in the park, our neighbours were a herd of 64 hippos which were 15 meters from our tent, bloody great big things and so loud, so up at 5.30am every morning, quick outdoor shower, coffee, breakfast into the trucks for 6.30am and off out into the bush, we normally stayed out all day till about 6.30pm stopping to check tyres (having a wee) or lunch under a tree somewhere, the guides were excellent as was the food which were all done by Massi Warriors in their traditional dress. The two WildEye ambassadors who were with us are both very well known SA wildlife photographers, Morkel Erasmus and Marlon du Toit who seemed to know just about everything there is on wildlife in Africa, the photos I saw that both took on the trip were amazing, god knows where I was for some of the sightings they had.. All I can say is if anybody wants to go a photographic holiday to Africa then these people (Wild Eye) are brilliant and I would recommend them whole heartily.
Right best do some work now, I will if its ok slowly trawl through my photos and post as I go, im still on day one..

Those Cheetah are amazing Mark. I'm sure we are going to see a lot of your new work in the press. We're you able to shoot anything from the Indiana Jones Express? I bet the Wildebeast would have looked great from above.

You must be so happy to have won the trip, but hat off to you mate you thoroughly deserved it.

Right, where's my money bank!

Fab photo's by everyone over the last few days.

Not been here as work has been manic and I've spent the last couple of days recovering from the hangover from hell after a joint "moving in/NOT divorced" party on Saturday! (I moved into Nicki's properly :D and her divorce absolute got delayed by a week :()

I have today off work and hope the weather is going to play ball so I can get out for a couple of hours with the camera.
