Yeah, satisfied that I finished before the course was closed. In March I couldn't get off the couch without assistance because of a bad back. I started seeing a chiropractor and he told me is was "frozen" with scar tissue and I had to work to break it up. So I am really excited to have accomplished this goal. It was faster than my practice run but I am sure it would have been even better if I hadn't just gotten over a cold.

Glad to hear that! It always brings a smile to my face hearing stories like yours, running a half marathon is an accomplishment in of itself, let alone overcoming a physical condition to do so. I personally can lift big but have difficulty keeping pace after about 1/2 mile or so, and that's healthy.

A little shoot from me with my friend and his wife to be. Let me know what you think so the next time we go out I can do them justice. I know this is nothing to VInz or some of you portrait guys, so be easy on me. Shot with 430 EXII and 24-105. She really likes a few from this set and said some are going on their invites. These are a few of my favs. Some of these may seem like they're tacky, but it really does capture both of their personalities. He's 6'4 and pushing 300, but he's just a big kid and she just goes with it.

Hi,

I saw you have the 70-200 in your sig. That would have given you better bokeh if you only have a space to backup.

All my maternity shots were done with my 70-200 NON IS except for the bamboo shots because i have no space to backup and i want to include a little more of the bamboo trees. i used my 50mm on those.

If you also have a space to keep your subject away from the background, that would give you better bokeh too.

With the 24-105 you can also make a fantastic bokeh if you zoom all the way and be as close as possible to the subject but have them away from the background.

one last thing is if you can do off camera flash, it helps a lot.

for shots 1 and 4, if you can have there heads touching each other, may give an impression that they really are close and loving each other.

Thanks Vinz! I had my 200, but kept having to back up and no room since we were on a small trail with trees and branches in the way.

ic.. sometimes environment prevents us to do what we have in mind.

I think they are great - especially 1,3, & 4 ...love the flower presentation

for what its worth, I greened the greens, usually a nice touch with nature environments but it needs to look natural, not sure of my quick attempt did it but the idea is there

Thanks! I actually went back in and brightened up the greens a bit on the flower pics, but just a bit. I liked what you had to show there just a little more than I like, but then again maybe it's my monitor.

I think the 24-105L can still be your good friend on those shoots if you can find a background back far enough from your subjects to bokehize it. What a couple of fun folks you have there ~
