Best Buy L Lens Sale

Best Buy is free shipping and sales tax here is only 7%. Not a huge difference. But, they have 18month 0% financing, which for me is a lot better way to chew down that big old ticket price... $100 a month? Love it.

fyi, for those that have to pay tax for best buy, this is not as good of a deal as it would seem when compared to adorama or bh:

best buy:
$2000 lens + 9% tax = $2180
$2180 - $300 = $1880

adorama:
$2300 lens
4% credit = $92
$2300 - $92 - $300 = $1908

so, ordering from bh or adorama costs you about $30 more (depending on tax amount) and you have to spend that credit. but net-wise, it's pretty close.

adorama has one humongous advantage though: for the $7 yearly fee they give you a 3 year warrantee. for that reason I pretty much order everything I can from adorama if it comes close in price.

also note that if you're using one of those credit cards giving % discounts, it would be a greater discount buying the higher initially priced item. after all said and done, it's pretty dang close in price between the choices.

and.... I didn't check out best buy online--do they charge shipping? if they do... well, adorama and bh do not, so you can do the math.

Also don't forget you get $40ish in BB reward zone certificates which can easily be converted into Amazon GC whereas you're stuck with Adorama only.

Discover has 5% Cashback as well.

And if you use your Best Buy card and decline the financing promotion, I believe you can still choose 5% rewards. Not sure if this is only for the former silver reward zone members. (Or whatever it is now called. Elite?) That would net you $100 reward zone amount on a $2000 purchase.

Also, just as a note, if need be you can use BillMeLater at Adorama. This would extend your payments for 6 months. Granted not as good as the 18 through BB, but you also would not have to get into a new CC.

If you have it shipped to anywhere else other than New York and New Jersey, tax won't be charged with the sale.

The Best Buy price is back up to $2299.99 instead of $1999.99 from Mondays price, so extra 300 for rebates looking better
