My wife and I just got back from a long weekend trip to Colorado to shoot the fall colors. It was an amazing trip, and I'm already planning on going back. Here is one of the first ones I worked on once I got them on the computer. It was a very beautiful location, and we had it completely to ourselves. Ironically, 8 or 10 miles away, there were about 30 photographers, elbow to elbow, jockeying for position at a highway pullout to get the standard shot of these mountains that everyone seems to gets. Sometimes it's good to be different... ;)

C&C welcomed and appreciated. Thanks for looking.

Awesome shot Paul! I resume my fall colors trip on Friday (back in CO) and look forward to the colors being a tad-bit better than they were last week.

Very nice. Well done.

Great composition, Paul. Too bad there wasn't more light on the trees to bring out the color. Any chance you could bring it out? Mind telling your location? Your mountains look like the Dallas Divide area. I just had a good week at Ouray and surrounding area, now near Crested Butte for a few days.

It was in the PM Bruce. We were hoping that the clouds would do a little more, but they blew away before they started to really change color.

Thanks Stan! I wish I knew that you were in the area. We could have met up for a coffee or something. We were staying just South of Silverton, but were driving around the area for a few days. This shot was taken near one of the dirt roads south of 62, coming out of Ridgeway. We hiked a ways to find this beaver pond for the reflection.

Sounds like you were on County Road 7...

Wish I'd have known y'all were in my neck of the woods (and that I was able to be nearby). :)

It would have been nice to meet in person. We're already planning on going back next year, so maybe we can meet up then if you're in the area... ;-)a

Hey Paul,
I live in CO and typically spend a fair amount of time in the central / SW Rockies during fall colors time!

In addition, my folks live in metro PHX so I spend time there as well (more to come as my Dad's Parkinson's Disease gets worse).

Certainly look forward to the opportunity to meet ya and perhaps do some shooting together. :)
