Can anyone give me any advice on how far to space the suction cups so that I dont deform body panels or break the windshield? It's not that heavy lol. Just space the cups out as far as you can. Get creative with it, it's not too hard.

The fender shows the background reflection at a stand still. If you did, I'd recommend using the blur tool in PS on that layer to blend it with the motion layer. Also consider the boom reflection and background/shooting location reflection on the car. Otherwise, nice job on your first rig shot! -Jimmy | jton•media

How do you do that? Are all the pic's taken at the exactly same place all the time? YEP, im a n00b! But i really wanna learn the basic step to get some greate pic's ![]() -Dan The goal of the rig shot is to covey motion. Most of the time streaky backgrounds convey the best motion, and you will need 4-10 seconds of exposure to get that. However, just the opposite is true of the ground/wheels (usually). The longer the exposure, the more the road tends to look like smoke instead of a road, so for that, you'll need a 2-second exposure. 2-seconds also works best for wheels (most of the time), as it gives them definition. And of course, 2-seconds is going to give you the sharpest shot, regardless of the product used. ![]() The Explorer. ![]() ![]()
