Great price on an amazing lens! If you're on the fence, I wouldn't hesitate to buy at this price!

Great price indeed! I have owned this lens I now own the Sigma 35 1.4 Art lens and feel its a better lens and I am a diehard canon "L" junkie.

agree. The only advantage canon has, is well, the red ring about it.

Guys, are there not plenty of discussions in the Lens forum on Sigma versus Canon? Why potentially drag that debate into here? This is a Market Watch thread on a sale price for the Canon 35L.

Adorama price matched.

They are also offering 4% reward and a free UV filter / SD card, pretty good deal...

It should also bring the used price down. 3 good options at 35mm.

The used price already dropped a ton after the sigma was released. This will push it down even further and makes me wonder if Canon is getting ready to release a new L series 35mm soon.

One would think we're due for a new 35L, but I've seen that thought tossed around every time this lens has went on sale for the last 5 years. But you could be right -- one does not know if a new one is coming soon! Regardless, it's a great lens as is.

It's hard not to go for it at this price, but I think I'm going to wait for a good deal on a 50mm

You are always most welcome to email me directly Helen@adorama.com (external link); if you've purchased from Adorama within the past 30 days we'll always do our best to price match to any equally reputable retailer - tho' it may be as a store credit.
And that would also usually apply to cashback increasing from, say, 2% to 4% within that 30 days, as well.
