After a long wait I reached to power down the camera to climb out from under the camo and "Splash!". I stood for quite a while staring and beautiful light falling on the empty perches in front of me and when the light starts getting harsh there she is. Better late than never but bright light and Belted Kingfishers makes for some tedious processing. I did what I could with them, hopefully next time she'll show a little earlier.

Brilliant as usual, whatever you did with the processing obviously worked, well done.

Good ones, Steve. One of mine is still around, as they are late migrators, but the light is bad nearly all day where I normally shoot. You did well here, despite challenging lighting.

Thanks very much everyone for the kind comments. I got a few more today that I'll be processing in the next couple of days.

The light looks challenging, Steve but she sure put on a great show for you! Not many left here. I have experienced the same "splash", right when I was getting ready to leave....too funny. :) Oh BTW, excellent shots!

Thanks very much everyone.

Ian, I've walked over to my truck to pack everything away and sure enough there's the chatter, I look back and there sits the bird right on the perch I stared at for hours. It's times like those that make me stay under the camo waiting for "just 5 more minutes" which turns into an additional hour or more. :)
