Help. Must replace s100

For the second time, I've got a "lens error" inability to extend the lens on this camera. The first time they fixed it and it worked for a few months. Til this event.

I can't risk it happening again. I think $900 is too much for the Sony RX100 or 100 II. Only scored a 70 on dpreview, not much higher than other P&S's. But what other adjustable shirt pocket camera is out there?

Any recommendations, or should I just get a G16?

If you don't mind the size of the G16, then you can also get an LX7.
The G16 in itself is also a great option, and if you want a compact camera,
and you cleary don't want the 'S', then go for either the Fuji XF1 of the Panny LF1.
