I must be overlooking something simple here. I can not get the 580 EX II to fire at all right now. Earlier today, it would fire, but only if the shutter speed was about 80. At 160 ss, the black curtain was visible at lower part of the image. All of these images were shot in manual. using 5d Mark III.

I am new to the Pocket Wizard. Here is what I have done to trouble shoot. I have used an OCF cord to connect camera to flash. It fires perfectly at 160 or 200 (can't remember).

I put the flash on the Mini TT1 I use on the camera. It fired perfectly at the higher shutter speed.

I went back an put the flash on the TT5. Flash is set to master and on channel A. TT5 is set to A. TT5 and TT1 are on C1. Flash is in manual mode.

I also did read the directions and did the test/learn with the TT1. Unless, I'm supposed to also do that with the TT5.

Frustrated as to why it worked earlier, but only at the lower shutter speeds and now I can't get it to fire with the TT5.

Any thoughts out there?

Yes, you need to program each TT5 with the TT1. What's your distance between TT1 and TT5? Are you using the sleeve?

When the 580EX is mounted on the FlexTT5, is the FlexTT5 mounted in the camera hot shoe or is it used as a remote trigger? If the FlexTT5 is a remote, then the 580EX II needs to be set to Normal flash mode, not Master.
