It's not an option in the camera. You have to connect the camera to a computer and run EOS Utility.

Any suggestions, tips, warnings?

Today a friend of mine gave me an Epson Stylus Photo R1900. It is brand new (at least as far as usage). He bought it new about 2 years ago. He printed 2 images on it, thought it was too complicated (he was going to give it to his son, and finally bought the boy another model). The problem is that it has not been used for over 2 years, the original inks are still in place. I am hoping that if I clean the print heads I can at least try it out. I hate to buy 8 cartridges to give it a test.
Does anyone have any experience in doing somethink like this?
Thanks for any help...Joe

Any suggestions, tips, warnings?

Joe,

I would remove the cartridges and shake them gently for a few seconds and re-slot them (after initiating the ink-change sequence). The printer will then recharge the cartridges. Do the nozzle check and run a few cleaning cycles if the printout shows clogged nozzles. Two years of quiescence doesn't sound promising. I've had two Epsons over the past 10 years die from nozzle problems, one prematurely. However, those were dye printers if that matters. My current Epson is my first pigment printer and so far (knock on cellulose) it's been clog free for almost a year.

You might post this in RAW, Post Processing and Printing. Perhaps someone there has experience reanimating a printer.

My 1400 was the one that died prematurely. C'est la vie.

Good news!
Following your suggestions, I was able to get the printer going. It took a few head cleanings, nozzle cleanings, and some tears shed over all the ink consumed......but......the colores were fine, however, the print had the look of raked sand. So, a cleaning or two more, and now all seems to be okay.
Now that I know it is operable, I will buy some new inks.

Thanks fosr your help, you always come through....Joe

Help please...
I just got a couple of "new" cameras....an S90 and 450/XSI....
I had to buy a charger, and I got a generic one, along with a generic battery...
The problem I'm thinking I have is determining whether the battery is fully charged in the 450...
Here's a shot of the battery charge icon on the two cameras...both have 2 slash marks, but...
The S90's 2 slashes fill the battery, but the 450's show more room for another slash

IMAGE: http://imageshack.us/a/img571/3497/waru.jpg

My question is this...should the 450 display another slash (for a total of 3) to fill the "battery icon"?

Thank you for your help.
