Tons of Blue Jays around these days. And then this Sharp Shinned Hawk appeared today. Talk about panic amongst the littler guys!

Good shooting, Ian. I've only had a few bluejays this fall, despite a healthy acorn crop; I hope I can encourage a few to return when I get the feeder up later this fall.

Very nice Ian, the hawk sure can scatter the smaller birds.

They sure are gorging themselves with the black oil sunflower seeds, Al.

Thanks John. I hadn't had any blackbirds and grackles here for a few weeks because of the hawk, and they just showed up again yesterday. Then this guy came around today, and I had 5 of the grackles smack into my house trying to get away. Now they're all gone again. When there's 30-40 grackles around all at once, I think they make a nice easy target for the hawk ;)
