If the image needs sharpening, I use a high pass filter on a separate layer, and change the layer blend to overlay, then reduce the opacity as required, Sometimes, it needs the saturation dropping a touch too. If that brings in a touch of noise, then a quick touch of NR cures that.

For web, I reduce the image size to 1024pix, and that will soften it up, so I run a smidge of unsharp mask for that before posting.

But yes, the lens is pretty sharp up to f/11 before a hint of diffraction starts.

yup!
My 1Dx/300 combo was wearing a .9 ND and was around f10...much nicer images at that aperture. Plus the benefit of hiding sensor dust which the 1Dx is notorious for!

Last night was the first time i attempted to use flash. The flash in question is a Sigma EF-500 DG SUPER [EO]-ETTL II. For years the flaahed worked flawlessly on my 350D, but on the 70D in auto all the shots were WAY overexposed, setting it manually at the flash head to 1/4 to 1/2 helped alot. After a little brief reading, I think that the flaah head in question may need to have a firmware update to operate in auto mode as it should. Are any of you aware of what Im describing, if so what did you do to resolve the issue

Just got back from 2.5 weeks of shooting and what is the first thing I do? Check this forum! HA! 501gb of data uploading as I type and while cathing up on the 70D posts I had this thought-what can't this camera do? Macro? BIF? Sports?
p.s. TSA got into the Kata and pulled out a Sony A77 BY the flash, the A77 was attached to a 70-400G so the flash is frakkkkked. Everything the government touches......
