Well the ankle is a lot better but still have a problem with a Pyogenic Granuloma on my toe so walking is painful. I'm getting a bit frustrated at not getting out. Nice starfield Mark, I assume you are enjoying playing with the Astrotrac, but not much in the way of clear skies at the moment. Still some cloud makes for an excellent early morning shot.

It seems to have been awfully quiet around here lately, isn't anyone shooting anything. I've just got back from my second visit to the docs, he's submitted a request to the Day Centre to get the growth chopped off, it may be two weeks. The sooner the better, he yanked it around with some tweezers today and it was flipping painful, I think he moonlights for the Spanish Inquisition.

So no wandering around Farlington Marshes for me just yet :-(

That's one of the larger hoverfly species you have there Ken. I've mostly been processing star photos lately and haven't taken many fresh shots, though today I did shoot some mushrooms and a Silver-Y moth I found in the garden. Glad to hear you're on the mend.

Mark.

Wow that hoverfly must have been taking anabolic steroids then, it was huge.

Just been checking I think it's a Volucella inanis

That's a nice view Colin, perhaps could use a tad more saturation though.

Just got the car back today now sporting a dent free bootlid :D

Hi everyone. Been away in France for four weeks, and completely out of touch. So it was a pleasure to get back and see what all of you have been up to. And what a lot! Ken damaging his ankle, Colin producing some wonderful kestrel shots, and the rest of you as well.

So today I went to the WW Trust at Arundel to get some water vole shots. I did see one, 100 yards away, so I entertained myself photographing dragonflies. I managed to lock on to this little chap a few times and got a load of images, but he was 30 feet away, so they are all at 100 %. Still, you can see what it is. I hope!

Lovely shot Becky, but remember to keep them to 1024 pixels maximum.

I got some great Water Vole shots at Arundel a few weeks back. This is the first time I had seem them despite going there many times. Sometimes they were so close I had to switch to a 100mm macro.

Best place is by the bridge by the start of the reed bed walk.

Nice work everyone. Am now resident in Chandlers Ford full time so will be here a little more often. Been upgrading kit recently. New 5D3 and a nearly new 24-105 f4 IS are the main highlights. Anyway.....

Got the chance to have a play with the 24-105 in a boatyard today.
