Good lord, England is freezing tonight. I am shaking even with the heating on and my cardigan in bed :(

It is the same here in France. Luckily we all came prepared to dress in layers. Dinner was great & we laughed & shared 2 bottles of champagne & stayed in the restaurant for over 2 hours. Now going to hit the hay.......zzzzzzzz.

Life is hard...but I just take it one photograph at a time.

I guess we will have rain & gloomy skies my whole visit but I have been out walking many miles with the umbrella & raincoat :) really, I could not get over the size & beauty of The Louvre (& many stairs that had to be climbed to see the Mona Lisa!) after 4-5 hours there I couldn't tolerate the crowds so we walked along the Seine to Notre Dame. I also love the St. Germaine district as well as the Latin District! So much to see & going on. I cannot imagine how crowded it must be here during the summer season as it is enough right now.

Hope the rest of your holiday is wonderful Maureen, you are not so far away and it is blooming freezing as Salma said!

I was hoping for a cold clear weekend to get out with the camera as I am a bit down in the dumps with my photography at the moment, just don't seem to be happy with anything I take. I think some of it is having new camera and trying to learn it - results have gone backwards but I know that is just because I haven't adapted yet. Gone from 7D to 5D3 - I know the problem is not the camera just me getting used to it. Still it is depressing to not be happy with what I am doing.

Give it some time, Emma. It'll come back. I go through this every so often, feeling I'm getting nowhere with my photography and feeling depressed about it. It always passes. And it takes time to get to know a new camera. So hang in there!

Thanks Levina. I know what you mean, I have phases of thinking everything I take is just same same same and not very good - I think this time it is just being added to by "new camera syndrome" and not feeling I have the settings exactly how I want. And there are quite a few to go through! Sure it will come right again eventually, all it takes is a picture that makes me go "wow" and I cheer up again!

But for now a couple of "same same same" stags from our walk today!!!

Those are really nice Emma, I love the last two. The first one is cool, but his head blends in with the light colored brush behind him.
I've been in a funk with photography as well.

Yep, I know how that feels like... For me it always ends with a successful outing too.

Good grief, girl, this one is gorgeous!! I mean, I like the other two too, but this is so wonderful. Great processing too. I would only crop out those legs of, well something, up top as it is a bit distracting. Just crop right under it. And then you can hang it on your wall.

I thought that Stina, I liked the underlying idea and colours it just doesn't quite stand out enough and I couldn't see why - but you explained it.

Thanks for the kind words Levina - the "legs" are tree trunks - will have another look now.
