hi guys, just got a 6D yesterday.

had a 550d and 5d2 previously.. thought the AF selection for 6D would be similar to 550d. turns out that 6D uses both the top and back scroll wheel for horizontal/vertical AF point select instead.

is it possible to use just one scroll wheel to go through all the points? feels cumbersome and confusing to use both wheels at the same time.

another question regarding the gps: is it true that i've to manually switch off the internal gps before i turn the dslr off, failing which it will drain my battery? i'm on the latest firmware.. and i'm puzzled that the people at Canon have not done anything about it yet.

lastly, how long does it usually take for the gps to lock on at first instance? it took more than 5 minutes under a open shelter for me. is this normal?

thanks!

Personally I find setting the D-pad up to select your AF point is the quickest way for me. I almost never use the GPS but on the rare occasions that I have used it I have never had an issue with it draining my battery when just powering the camera off between use.

Not that often. I use it here and there when I see something that I'd want as the second/texture image.
