Bill, if you're soliciting votes where multiple colors are offered, I think the B&W works best for the angel with rosary, brown for the Woodmen set, and your third version for the child statue in front of a cross.

Thank you, OhLook. It's always nice to get feedback on what people think works best.

Mike,

Love that first shot from Kenmore. I can almost taste the fresh sharpness in the air!

That's a great sig. phrase, too!

More like these please, from Scotland!

Regards,

Simon

Ah, well thanks so much ! My wife and I loved our visit to Scotland, and while we didn't make a point of visiting cemetaries per se, we were struck by the number of them around (because of course, it's a very old country, compared with our home in Southern California) and how nice they were.

Here are a few more, as requested :-)

From Kenmore, Loch Tay

I've never been to Scotland, but I'd swear I can almost smell the air there looking at those photos. Must be genetic memory or something. :) Very nice shots.

Mike,

Thanks so much for adding more!
And yes, though I've never been to southern California I have been to Scotland plenty of times when I was still living in the UK, and I can imagine they're like chalk 'n' cheese!

Lovely shots, and Matt, yes, you really can almost smell the air, can't you :D

If you get the chance, DO visit Scotland. It's an amazing part of the UK.

Regards,

Simon

Guys, thanks for the kind remarks and yes, Scotland is a beautiful country, we loved our little visit there. We were only there about 10 days or so but we managed to see quite a bit of the southern and central portions, including the southern portions of the Highlands (managed a tour and tasting at Dalwhinnie distillery, which was excellent !). Next time I'd love to visit the more remote and wild areas further to the north and the islands etc.

Well, is Halloween and thought that I should try to shoot some real ghosts. Well, I didn't see any. Spent few hours in the Brooklyn Greenwood cemetery. Shot with Kodak Ektar 100. Olympus OM2n.

Lovely stuff! Thanks for adding.
That second is great, and I like how you framed it so as to get away from a (necessarily) blown-out sky!

Those colours are so autumnal, too. :D
I'm jealous, as I've to wait another month or so before the colours change here!

Regards,

Simon

Thanks... I have to re-edit these since I believe some of the C41 stablizer residues were still on the negatives. So, I washed the negatives again last night and it got rid of if the dusty white spots. It seems to have lightening up the shadows too. Will post them up later.
