First off, I'm no pro by any means. I smuggled my T3 and nifty two-fifty into Ruth Eckerd Hall tonight and got some good shots from the 21st row.
I thought they came out pretty good considering they were shot from the audience.
Comments and suggestions welcome. Thanks for looking.

Thanks. As a hobbyist, I'm trying to mainly improve the quality of my shots. I have an entry level camera and a few basic lenses. The majority of these were shot in Av mode with my ISO set at 800 and just the stage lighting. The 50-250 isn't the fastest lens, but many shots came out pretty sharp.
Hmm, now I'm noticing that I had the aperture set at 5.6 on most of these. I probably should have left it set at its fastest setting of 4, would you all agree?
Thanks again for your comments.

Nice! Your photo looks just like the one on his Wikipedia page.

If I don't get the shots I want with the gear I have, the only optics I need to examine is the mirror on the bathroom wall. The root cause will be there.

I think with the lens you are using its really top notch work,Sure its Not the most expensive outfit you have but you have proved that that does not matter to take great pics...so pat yourself on the back.:)

Thanks for the comments.
I'm going to be seeing ZZ Top at the same venue in December and plan on smuggling the same in again. My seats will be a bit closer to the stage as well. We'll see how it goes!

That lens is f4-5.6. At the widest end, it will be f4, but as you zoom, the aperture will decrease to f/5.6.

I've seen Joe there a few years back and was fortunate to have met him after the show. REH is a great venue for concerts, been there many times. Sometimes they let you in with a camera, other times they have signs on the door forbidding them, I have thought maybe the band decides if they permit cameras or not. Still the T3 isn't so small of a camera to sneak in, then you have security always watching the audience, nice job on the photo's.
