I'll be getting the EF adapter first.

Later on I will probably get an adapter for Nikon and the 14-24, unless Canon puts out a 14-24L.

Adapted lenses aside, do you plan to get any native Sony-mount lenses as well? Or are those not up to par yet?

Back to adapted lenses, I wonder if Leica M lenses can be adapted...?

You can use Leica M lenses on the NEX, so there should be nothing precluding you from using them on the A7r.

David, I am not sure. I haven't really looked at their lenses yet, but I will. :)

According to some posters at Sonyalpharumors, "Leica lenses" can be adapted. I don't know if that includes the M-models.

So there will be no fast AF FF Zeiss prime lens for r7?

Now I start to feel the pain as buying a new system...

Moving the A7R pictures to this thread.

QUOTED IMAGE
........

Wow, the corners are obscured by the mount. I wonder how much effect that will actually have on the image?

I noticed that Steve Huff reports bad color issues with the NEX7 with wider-than-35mm Leica M lenses: http://www.stevehuffphoto.com …-test-and-gxr-comparison/ (external link) Probably they will work fine on the fullframe A7R, but it will be very interesting to see Steve (and others) test it out. If the M glass works superbly on the A7R it would be another line of premium lenses to consider - lenses more size-proportionally aligned with the camera than Canon and Nikon-mount lenses.

Switching to a different subject, I'm wowed by the price (in a really good way). :)

It all depends on the microlens design on the A7r. Many of the Leica wides are non-retrofocus designs, which work fine on film, but require different microlenses in order to collect light from a wider range of incident angles relative to the sensor plane.

Apparently the new sensor is 'improved' in this regard; who knows how it will actually perform.

SAR dumped a new spec-list for the A7R.

- Lightest FF camera with interchangeable lens ever

- New BIONZ X image processing engine

- 14-bit RAW image

- ISO 100-25600 (with 50 ISO extension)

- Advanced 1200-zone evaluative metering

- 4fps (Max. 1.5fps, Speed Priority Continuous shooting)

- 1/8000 to 30sec shutter

- TRILUMINOS™ Color technology (color space)

- 1080 HD uncompressed, 60p/24p and 60i frame-rates. AVCHD and MP4 codec.

- 2.4M dot OLED EVF

- 25 points contrast AF

- +/- 5EV compensation

- Tiltable 3.0” (1,229k dots) Xtra Fine™ LCD

- Multi-interface Shoe for flash

- PC control with remote video capture control

- Playmemories App

- Weight 465g (with battery and card)

- Battery 1080 mAh for 340 shots (with LCD monitor always on!)

- Weather sealed body

Looks quite good but I doubt the 17-40 will be worthwhile using on this baby... it struggles on the 5DIII, especually corners. They need a zeiss 16-35 f4 or something similar to make this a reasonable wide angle option.

Yeah the 17-40 is a poor lens. But I guess they had one laying around and just took it as an example.

I acquired an expensive camera so I can hang out in forums, annoy wedding photographers during formals and look down on P&S users... all the while telling people it's the photographer, not the camera.
