Looks quite good but I doubt the 17-40 will be worthwhile using on this baby... it struggles on the 5DIII, especually corners. They need a zeiss 16-35 f4 or something similar to make this a reasonable wide angle option.

The only lenses I would use is the 17 TS-E and 24 TS-E II from Canon. Plus, any Zeiss EF mount would work too.

I agree.

I like how they kept the 24 and 36 MP versions in the same body. Wish Nikon did that with the D800 and D600.

There's going to be a Fuji x100 kind of a wait list for this thing. Probably a year before they are readily available. We'll see how fast Sony pumps these out.

Any idea on availability? I must have missed that part...

If it's before December, I'll be calling to pre-order as soon as Australian stores open in the morning!

My point was more that I have a 17-40 which means if I buy one I need new glass

exciting times. Get some good glass on there and great combination (Depending on ISO performance?)

I'll pass on that grip, it kind of defeats the purpose of a compact FF body, and I'm a grip zealot.

I didn't see a Bulb exposure setting - just the usual P, Av, Tv and M.

I hope you can still use exposures longer than 30s...

Sometime in November if I remember correctly. Pre-orders start later this month.

That's my one reason for holding back. It does not seem to have a Bulb setting and there is no wired remote. That would mean that you can't lock the shutter for things like star trail photography etc. I will wait for some clarification but frankly, that's the only reason I am not selling most of my Canon gear immediately.
