How important it is in filming with DSLR. What cheaper brand you could recommend that works?

I'm hired as second camera in an MTV filming this friday. i can hook up my macbook laptop but a big screen on top of the camera is i think more better.

what do you guys think? Please help me while i still have 2 days for shipping.

Are you filming outdoors? If so, you should probably pick up a viewfinder or a monitor w/hood.
