I can understand your side Brandon. But I think the majority of people that would bring their camera would be for personal use and pictures for home. Even if I wanted to sell pictures I wouldn't know the first place to do it. I just like taking pictures of my favorite players. Yes, I am sure other professional would come and do it too but it's done in baseball and football and really good are those pictures compared to where you guys get to sit are?

I agree. I would never take my big camera in but bringing a p&s to take some "selfies" with the rink in the background shouldn't be an issue.

Nice shooting Brandon. I shoot hockey also and do a lot up in Grand Forks. Curious on what you used for white balance. Also how fast can you shoot in your barn? In the Ralph I'm at f/2.8, 1/800,iso 1000. AWB works but have discovered setting white balance to k3800 is nice.

CC= like that you get around the barn and get different shots. Nice variety.

Looking good, enjoying 5 and 8.

We've got brand new LED lighting installed at our arena this season so I'm really excited to shoot this year. First home game is Saturday night. Supposedly the footcandle illumination went from around 50 to 130-135, so I should be able to go from 3200iso to about 800. Also, no more messing with WB since the lights are set to 5500 Kelvin. Going to be a great year!

I use the auto WB and as far as my barn goes, i dont shoot for UNO normally but I do the Lincoln Stars of the USHL and that barn is pretty darn dark so settings there are about iso 2000 f2.8 and 1/500th to 1/800th

Good action and timing. Face-puck-net is usually a winning trifecta.

I think you need to play with the output level on the black. Some minor adjustment (15-20 range) to lessen it would bring out some more definition on the dark jerseys. For example, shot 5, they're just a lump of black with no edges, folds, fabric creases etc.

Lightening shadows may also give you the same result, but high iso and crop also brings noise pretty quickly. It's a fine line.

cheers !
