I love my DSLR and especially enjoy the flexibility that my Macro and 300 mm lenses give me.
That said, I don't ALWAYS have it with me and I'm looking for a small P & S that I could carry in my shirt pocket.
Guess I want "egg in my beer", but I'm hoping to find the following combination of features under $300.00. Any suggestions greatly appreciated:
At least 12X optical zoom.
Manual capability.
Lithium battery.
Wifi not necessary but video would be nice.
Optical view finder would also be nice but I'm resigned to living with an LCD back side screen if I have to.
Other than the obvious needs for quality construction
and decent lens that about does it.
Does my dream back-up exist?
Thanks,
Rob

The PowerShot SX280 and the Lumix ZS25 come close to fulfilling your desires.
There's no viewfinders on both, but with wi-fi connectivity on the SX280 -
both with x20 zooms, manual control, full HD video, and compact body.

They are compact cameras with compact sized imaging sensors.
There's no compact camera with a large zoom and a large sensor.

If you forgo the zoom requirement, you can get the Coolpix P330,
which has a larger sensor and therefore higher image quality.
