You have documented the reason why I didn't stop at Mesa Arch on my recent trip to the States! As far as the shots go, it seems that you did manage to muscle your way in amongst the masses. I like the last one most.

Cheers, Helen

I understand what you are saying Todd. I won't take shots that hundreds have already been made. However, I would love just to stand there in person and watch the sunrise for a few moments.

Steve, really nice shots all and you have one off the most famous icons off the bucket list now. I bet the sunrise shot will look great on your wall.

heck, i only live a few hours from there and have never been. i'll likely go at some point. Horseshoe bend is the same way. a little unnerving standing on the edge of a 1000ft dropoff with a bunch of strangers right behind you.

haha and yeah on Horseshoe Bend I've heard that with that shot and it being scary. It was on my list to photograph on this trip but the timing did'nt work out. I'll get it next year as I plan a return trip to the Utah/Grand Canyon parks again

:) was quite amazing watching it all glow, despite the crowd and you take a step back from the situation and look at it, its all frame of mind and what you make of it.

or something like that :)

Steve -- beautiful set!

I was there in June, along with visiting Delicate Arch, various other locations in Moab and Goblin. Nothing beats seeing these locations with your OWN two eyes, because seeing them in someone else's pics doesn't leave you with the same experience or vision as being there! :D
