Just stumbled upon this deal on e-bay from BigValueInc. Not sure how many they have in stock or which warranty they are providing, but thought I'd post. Good Luck!

BigValueInc.. lots of discussion about this seller.. seems to be a hit or miss

I bought one from them about 2 weeks ago. "New, never opened" turned out to be a broken up kit (retail box with 24-105L but missing the lens). Zero shutter count and USA warranty card, etc, etc. I'm fine with it because it saved so much money. Shipping was reasonable at ~1 week.

Bought my 6D and 5D3 from them too, also received the same as his^ kit box, complete accesories with USA warranty card.

That is such a deal.

Ok so you have a warranty card. What happens if you do a claim and Canon needs to see your receipt? BigValue = not a Canon dealer. Do you still get warranty service?

The chances of needing a repair on a new body that will cost more than the savings from this deal are slim to none. If the Amazon deal was still active and I was looking to buy, I'd go with Amazon. But as it stands now, this is a sweet deal and the only one out there AFAIK.

And this note is clearly posted on their ad:

The warranty card is not important, you can even throw it away. Whenever I sent in a camera or lens that is still under warranty, they always want a copy of the receipt.

assuming the camera's serial matches that on the receipt...

Yeah, I never have ever sent a warranty card in for service... Always just a receipt and my CPS paperwork. I had service done recently from which the receipt was from a NON-Canon Dealer... They could care less and serviced it with no problem.

Lens Rentals also has mentioned Canon never gave anybody issues they know of from non-Canon dealers for warranty work. Unlike Nikon, for example who will not.

This question has been asked over and over and over. The consensus is that if you have a receipt that matches a valid serial number, then yes it will be service. It's interesting that this is always brought up but people will buy a white box lens or camera from a seller on most forums where they won't receive a receipt. In that case, item may be brand new but hmmm no receipt.

Yah...I know you'll get service. It's warranty service I'm questioning.

If you are referring to refurbished items when you say "white box", then yes why not buy one? They come with a one year warranty AND a receipt. Why would it not come with a receipt? That makes no sense.

I was referring to warranty service. Knock on wood, I've never had a lens or camera that required it. White box refers to "brand new" taken from a kit. Note that I said buy from a seller on forums, indicating a private individual, which would mean the only receipt they have is from when they originally bought it. Of course, they could make a copy of it and send it to you, but most aren't willing to supply their personal information.
