Traded in my Sigma 17-70mm 2.8-4 Contemporary for this Tamron, I like the build better (fits my hands better) and the constant aperture. Just a few test shots, straight from camera:

It seems as if my lens is front focusing consistently...and I've done the microadjust to +20, and it is still front focusing. I may have a bad copy. Before I go to the store, anyone have any suggestions about it?

I think microadjust is all one can do to correct front or back focusing. I think you'll need to take it back to the store.

Yeah I think I'm definitely taking it back to the store...I may just exchange it for the canon 17-55 2.8 IS.

Did you also consider the Sigma 18-35 f/1.8? I read good things about it.

I like the more usable focal length at the tele end...more usable to me, anyway.

Got my 17-50 during christmas, but just really started getting to use it. Loving that f2.8 perfect for a walkaround lens. I think I got a fairly sharp copy :D
