No. The Canon Powershot SX50 does not have GPS.

I shouldn't have said GPS, what I meant to say was GEOTAGGING. There we go lol

Any idea on how to turn this off? The Powershot SX50 HS has this feature

Er, no. It doesn't. To geotag, you need either built-in GPS (which the SX-50 doesn't have) or a separate GPS receiver; your downloading program will access the log file from the separate GPS to geotag your photos. But if you don't have a GPS, you won't get geotagged. How are you downloading your photos?

Oh I could've sworn I saw geotagging as one of the features... my fault.

What do you mean by downloading my photos? I'll be uploading through the memory card onto my computer if that's what you mean, but I'm sure with my luck it's not haha

Well, "uploading" generally refers to sending to the network (or back to the camera, where that's supported), "downloading" to sending data to your computer.

How you're downloading? Because some download programs support geotagging if there's a handy log file, others (like Canon's standard and Windows native tools for downloads) don't.

just remember what Jon said on post #139. This camera is incapable of geotagging. May I also suggest opening an account at one of the many photo sharing sites like Flickr. somehow I cant see sending to your email account being easy. This site (POTN) offers you 2 attachment per post.

By the way, has anyone bought any lens attachments for this camera? I bought a 3-lens kit (fish eye, wide angle, macro set) and the adapter ring WOBBLES on my camera!!!

So when I shoot/film the lens can be seen moving all around in the frame, I'm really disappointed guys. Anyone have this same issue? The ring clicks on, and then has some play once its all the way on and secure. It makes me feel like this model just wasn't meant to have attached lenses or something, I wanna order another adapter ring in hopes that I got a cheap one but If this happens to everyone I will not lol

Anyone have this same problem??

The front of the lens isn't actually threaded - it's grooved to accept a clip-on lens cap, but the Canon 67 mm accessory ring bayonets on to the same lugs that the lens hood does. You can force a threaded accessory to cut new threads in the plastic grooves, but as you're experiencing, you won't get a solid fit (and the more you use it, the worse it'll get).
