Just to show you don't need expensive cameras or lenses to take fantastic images, show us your best rebel shots. Kit lenses, Nifty fifties, telephoto's, as long as it's not got a red ring around it or is white, and was taken with a rebel you can post it. Here's some of mine:

I have these offerings from a 300D with broken AF Sub-mirror, so no AF. Shot with a Sigma 28-300 super zoom.

The milky way in all of the pics was shot at ISO 3200 , F2.8 at 11 mm for 30 secs. (Tokina 11-16 f2.8 if you wanna shoot the stars ). Pic 1 & 3 are composites, shot the foreground first waited for the sky to turn dark and then shot the milky way. The last pic (where I am sitting and staring at the stars) was shot for 60 secs . That is when i realized that if you go above 30 secs, you will get star streaks. Lookup the 650/Focal Length rule.

Hope that helps.

Does it count if the only rebel you have is a film rebel?

On my first attempt with shooting the stars, all I was getting was a black photo with 6 or 7 stars that really stood out. Nothing like what you have achieved.

Well you need to know what time the milky way comes up, and in which direction, check out planets app if you are using Android, it will show you the direction and check out stellarium, it will show you what time of the night the milky way is most visible and most important of all, you need to be in a dark place with little to no light pollution.
