My latest addition :D Obviously it's not the greatest picture, but it reminds me of the Eye of Sauron from Lord of the Rings :p

those who wish that their lenses come in white can get the "lenscoat" from wildlife watching supplies. This "lenscoat" is reversible, ie can be used in black or white depending on which side you flip it

Its ok. Different people have different tastes. White helps to disperse heat faster

what matters is the surface material/color reflecting the sunlight away and not absorbing all the heat.
