The game will last 7 days and whoever can produce the best edited image (as judged by me) will be picked and it'll be their turn to post their unedited picture for all of us to take a crack at.

The participants must have their "Image Editing OK" turned on and they must provide at least a simple breakdown of how they edited the image, some entrants are a little vague on this point, please give us all details so we can learn and share tips. For instance if you use the unsharp mask tool or Smart Sharpen, provide us with the adjustments you used so others can try them out.

You can post multiple images, but the first image you post will be the one that is judged - all other images will be considered for knowledge and tip use only. Feel free to comment and/or ask questions at any time. This is a good competition for learning new methods, so let's make it a bit more dynamic. I will be judging edits, not comments. Feel free to comment on the original image as well.

If you happen to be the winner of the game please start the next one with the title of the game and the following number. For example…the next game should read "Before & After #495".

Submissions end, Monday, November 4th, 2013 at 9:00pm CST time and a winner will be announced.

This is my first time at this game, so I didn't spend a lot of time on it. Also, this is the only time I will have to give it a try... hence the early reply.

Cropped
Crushed the highlights and the blacks
Increased shadows and whites
Increased vibrance
Selectively adjusted HSL color saturations
Noise reduction
Brought into Color Efex - added Kodachrome 64 and Vignette filters.

Photography is just a hobby for me.

Also my first attempt at this game.
In ACR - auto white balance & boosted fill light.
In PSE - auto levels, boosted saturation, cropped, cloned out marker, duplicated layer, set top layer to screen & 50% opacity, flattened image & then duplicated layer.
In Topaz Adjust plugin - spicify preset
Back in PSE - duplicated that layer, set lower layer mode to color, erased most of the grass on the top layer & burned the clouds a bit, then copied the clouds on the left to a new layer, changed the mode on the new layer to soft light, then copied the original balloon from the bottom layer x2, moved those layers to the top & changed the very top layer to color dodge, darkened the back side of the balloon on the normal layer, then flattened, ran noise reduction & saved as jpg.

Made a few selections - (you can guess where they are!) filled with different colours added text and flattened.

Cropped image.
Cloned out distracting foreground items.
With Nik Software plugin I used the graduated Neutral Density and the User Defined filter to enhance the sky.
With Nik Software plugin I used the darken lighten center to brighten the ballon and darken the borders just a little.
Did some dodging on the balloon to brighten it up.
Brightened up the foreground a bit.

Lots of interesting edits here. I can't quite put my finger on why, but I like T3 Heavy Shop's edit the best. I think because it looks like it was shot in 1965 with a brownie camera. I also like that the subject was more the old tire in the ground rather than the balloon.

Well done, everyone else. Nigel's edit gave me a good chuckle when I needed it.

All yours, T3.
