No, it's not the Beatles...but don't know what to do with these swans which is part of a series of three images

I think that they're getting lost in the water...have made numerous detailed selections. Suggestions?

in photoshop adjusted the "a" and "b" channels of LEVELS in LAB mode. and little bit dodge and burning.

Here's my take...cropped for composition, adjusted levels, slight contrast and clarity increase, minimal desaturation, and more luminance of birds:

In the past when I've had white birds...I've done them on a black background or more of a white background...like this

Hmmm...could you turn the black water more into a navy blue?

The second one has a neat effect to it, almost looks like a pencil drawing. A little more water around the bird may help.

I think nittaya's edit is on the right track, but add some selective brightness to the birds.

That looks good, I would just crop it up from the bottom to get rid of the empty space on the bottom, and to put the bird in the lower third.
