canonrumors.com seems to be getting conflicting information on one. One thing that does seem to be constant from thier sources is there will not likely be any big announcments until spring 2014.

I've always been a photographer, but I haven't always had a camera.

After selling all my Canon gear, I am now back with the purchase of a Canon EOS M!

I will be buying a full frame at the start of 2014 but for now the M will suite me nicely.
Day off work tomorrow so hopefully some photos!

Bought some weeks ago a Canon FD 50mm F1.8 lens from ebay. The lens is probably newest model of different FD versions. I just received Fotga FD-EOSM adapter that allows using of FD lenses on M without conversion lenses and infinity focusing and wanted to share my first thoughts and some pics for anyone interested.

The lens is available really low prices. Though the difference in price between "modern" EF 50mm F1.8 lens is quite small (as the EF version is so cheap). For me it was still a question of trying something new and I strongly dislike the EF versions out of focus (bokeh) rendering. From all the pics I saw taken with the FD version I concluded it probably had better out of focus rendering.

The focusing feels really nice and if the light levels are not too bright I can see the in-focus area using the lcd even without magnification.

The Fotga adapter allows changing the aperture quickly between wide open and some pre-selected aperture with one small turn of the "lock" -ring. After couple of shots this already feels natural thing to do.

I use the camera in A-mode and I need to allow the camera to shoot "without lens".

I cannot yet say if I am totally satisfied with the sharpness wide open, but the lens seems to be very sharp stopped down. The out of focus rendering seems quite smooth but I still need more experience with different apertures and different background subjects.

I was surprised how easy it is to use a totally manual lens with M. With this experience it is possible that I buy other FD lenses too.

Couple of shots with the lens...

well after spending an hour reading through this thread and LOVING all the photos with this camera I am even more excited to get mine in the mail next week!!! beyond excited. After lugging my 7D and XTi around on trips and travels I have had enough of that weight but was never happy with my G12 so this seemed like a logical purchase....your comments and photos have shown me I will have no regrets.

I will want an adapter to use my sigma 18-250 and my canon 28 and 50 primes, will the aftermarket ones mentioned here all work (Meke and fotodiox or will I need more than one)?? Has anyone used a sigma zoom with success? (ps sorry but I couldn't seem to locate a dedicated forum for this M camera discussion.)

QUOTED IMAGE

This looks wonderful, and the IQ of the lens used seems to be stellar. What lens it is?
