Nicely done PJ.

Seems going back to the origins of the thread that there were a few more users. Wonder if they still are?

THe dial in the middle (missing the plastic knob on the 4800 pack) is a universal 3 stop adjustment in third stops iirc. So it's applied to whatever rations you've set via the channels.

iow, on a 2400 pack, if you have one head in each channel and they are isolated, you'll get 1200ws from the center, 800 ws from the left and 400 ws from the right. If you 'dial down' one stop, you'll get 600 ws/400ws/200ws, etc. etc. If you have 2 heads in each channel that amount of power is further divided in half.

THe chords are part of the 102 heads that I use. Rated to 3200 ws, built in fan, on-off modeling light switch (150 watt ESS bulb), 20' cable.

Sounds complex!

There are user manuals for all packs and heads on the Speedotron website.

Bob

Weird I tried DL them a long time ago and I got a 404 message.

Maybe sounds that way, but in practice it takes all of 3 minutes to understand the operation.

Very simple to use.

Here's a couple links. First is the 1205 which is my go-to pack for most everything. Second link is the 2403 which is probably the main workhorse pack for Speedotron. They used to have all this info in one download including all the light but, now it's all broken up by component.

I sold all my Speedo gear and went with Dynalite. All my shooting is on location and that 100+ lb Pelican case was killer when I needed to take the big lights.

My village called. I was told that they missed me.

I did try and start a cover-all pack and head flash thread, but it soon died. It would be nice to see setups and what people are doing with these types of lights vs the threads that normally reign supreme with monolight or speedlights.

I certainly won't let this thread die.

There are other forums where the members seem to be anti PCB(cough FM cough) and anti anything other than broncolor or profoto.

Although this forum tends toward a light setup using MORE lights opposed to FEWER.

As soon as I'm able to make a decent speedotron adapter for the Paul c buff PLM I'll start posting here a TON more.

I remember seeing that at the flickr pool once.

I've PM'ed with him a bit about that adapter. I want something better. I'm toying with the idea of cutting the PLM so I can pass a support rod with a reverse mount and cable hanger through it. Something like the fotodiox giant para.

OR building a stainless steel cage like broncolor.

Option one requires some use of a workshop to bend and form the mount.

Option two requires some tig welding.

I suppose option three would be to email PCB company and beg them for a plastic injection moulded version of option one.
