i barely used my 35 1.4 because the 16-35 was so much more versatile. then i sold it and got a 50 1.2.

now i miss the big aperture on the 35 and want to get another one. maybe i'll wait for the version II.

I had the Canon 50mm f/1.4 and 1.8 II rarely used them.. at first I thought it was the focal length just didn't suit me but then I bought a used Contax Zeiss 1.7/50mm T* and sold the Canons. Now I've been using the FL a lot more. The Zeiss is very small and lightweight so it has no problem making the "cut" for lenses always in the bag when space is tight. It just has something about it that makes the images pop where I always found the Canon 50mm images to be, well, rather flat and uninspiring at best...

Now it's my Rocky 24mm that's rarely in the bag... I only bring it along for low light shoots since the Canon 24-70mm ƒ/2.8L II just blows it away in every conceivable way except shooting at < f/2.8

EF-S 55-250. Once I got the EF 70-200 IS L, the old tele was relegated to the lens counter.

I sell lenses I rarely use. I am trying to stay within 5 lenses, all of which I use frequently.

I wasn't sure whether my photography would lean more towards using zooms or primes. So I bought 3 zooms (16-36, 24-105 and 80-200 - all Ls) and 3 primes (85 1.8, 135 f2L and 200 f2.8L ii). After more than a year, I had only used the 85 and 200 a couple of times each. Perhaps less than 50 frames shot with each. Sold them both.

thats right
im thinking to sell all my L lenses to keep the 50mm 1.4 and the 85 1.8
i like black lenses with gold line not red line
the price of them is good for me and they gives me a very clear images in a simple ways
im not a pro user i want everything easy to use
the L lenses needs more money and needs a lot of time and setup

My 100mm f/2.8L doesn't get as much use as I'd like because I have the stunning 70-200L MkII, but at least I know it's there when I need to get in close.

Yep I am in the 50 1.4 camp too...along with the 55-250. The 50 is just a bit too long and the DoF so thin wide open...I get better optical and AF performance out of my 17-55 (granted at 2.8)..

Same goes for the 55-250..the 70-300L just beats the pants off of it. The only thing the 55-250 has going for it is mag factor as a poor mans macro...but even then I usually use the 70-300L because it just performs so much better.
