guess I'll be one of a few posting in this thread still... I'm quite happy with this purchase. Excelling IQ on a budget. Sharp enough to see the hairs on a spider too!

I just recently became aware of this lens' existence and thought I would never own such. Then I got a deal I couldn't resist and here we are, using this lens. I still am considering what body to couple this with. This pic was taken with Canon EOS M using the EF to EF-M converter.

I was pleasantly surprised of the way the lens handles both the foreground and background bokeh.

Well after wanting one of these for a while, I decided to buy one today after switching back to Canon from a year of Nikon shooting. Can't wait to see how it does.

Man... I had a mint copy of one of these with a pristine case. Got it for $800 when I first started out with a 40D. Got scared that Canon no longer serviced it... so I sold it on eBay for a mere $650 or so. I regret doing that. It was such a nice lens.

Taking photos with a fancy camera does not make me a photographer.

Owned this lens and sold it. Regretted it. Now I own it again! Keeping it till it croaks this time (hopefully won't be soon. Fingers crossed.)

From my old 40D:

This looks wonderful. It has somekind of "graphical" effect, it is not just a photo anymore.

I have one, but I don't have a body to use it with. I have taken couple of shots with EOS M with converter, but this needs a body with viewfinder. I am suffering as I can't "take this out and shoot". Problem is I am saving to 70D, and don't want to throw money to cheaper bodies so that I can get 70D sooner.

Keep these coming.

Consider second-hand full frame body where this lens really shines. For the price of new 70D you can have 5D mark II i think. This is something to really think about. Just my recommendation.

Thanks for making me hesitate again ;)

Actually, I am always driven nuts with the temptation to FF body, but then again 70D is the best featured body from Canon at the moment. It has REAL benefits like wireless shooting with smartphone. Combined with sviweling screen, 1.6x crop and somekind of weather sealing it makes one perfect macro-nature shooting machine of all times.

But, every time I hear the words "Full-Frame"... Yes. Ehm. I just don't know.

What kind of shooting do you prefer Full-Frame body with this lens? It would certainly be perfect for people photography, but I am just not a people photography person myself.

I was just about to sell this lens. Found out I wanted a dslr again (after using mirrorless systems, and M as the last camera) and bought the 70D. After some shots with the new camera, which seems quite balanced with this lens, I found out I could not sell the lens, at least yet. I just have to try this lens more.

Two from today.
