I apologize if this isn't the right place for this.
I've been looking at the 1D IIn lately to complement my 6d. the 1D would be replacing my 60d, which has basically been rendered useless by the 6d. The bump in FPS is pretty nice, which is a big reason why i'm considering it. I shoot mostly sports (Paintball to be exact), and 4.5 FPS on the 6d doesn't quite work all that well.

The only functional drawback to the 1DII(n) is ISO noise, but with the right technique and post-processing it's not a big deal. If lighting is good when you shoot, it is really awesome.

In the great megapixel race, I never felt undergunned with 8.2MP.

The only non-functional drawback would be the lack of service by Canon. I think I've read that the 1DII and 1DIIn are no longer repaired by them, but I imagine 3rd party shops still service them.

I've contacted Canon about this issue and they stated that they will service the II N not the II version.

That's good! I wonder how much more time the N has?

I had a chance to speak to the Canon Factory Service Center, Tech Support Team, they said the typical life cycle support for an EOL product is 7-8 years which makes sense for the II but the downside is that the II N would be targeted within that 7-8 year next year. So be prepared. :(
