No, the point of this thread was to discuss and compare the physical build quality and "feeling" of the 6D, to perhaps the 5DII/5DIII, or the 7D. My opinion was that it felt cheap.

Somewhere along the line, the individuals replying to this thread began taking the point out of context, and instead began discussing the image quality, auto focus performance, and other aspects of the 6D that I hadn't intend to be discussed. Of course, you guys have all the right in the world to discuss those things if you please, but nonetheless, again, the point of this thread was to discuss the physical feeling of the 6D, features and IQ disregarded.

Exactly, it just got out of hand.

By the way, speaking of build quality, I was wondering if one of the things that may contribute to many people feeling the 6D as subpar in their hands is that the SD card door is a little bit loose. I mean that when the door is closed and your holding the camera. It is located at a place where your hand is putting a pressure on it as you grab the body and since that door is not part of the actual body structure, may feel a bit insecure under your hands. So basically as your holding the 6D and "squeezing" it, you may feel that something is loose. Yeah that's the SD card door.

This is just my observation, my 7D's card door is similar though. I does have a little bit of play (little bit = very very tiny ) However, the 7D's CF card door is much longer, goes all the way to the bottom of the handgrip part of the body. Therefore the force your hand is exerting is spread out on a much larger area thus the tiny play is less noticeable.

That's my observation comparing my 6D and 7D. I never noticed this before and I would have never though about doing this until now when the 6D's build quality has been questioned and I wanted to look into this more thoroughly.

Not really. "does the 6D feel like a full frame Rebel"? How ambiguous is that? You can "feel" the difference between a rebel and another Canon dslr? Is is stiffer? Is it spongier? Is it squishier? Really? Nothing but trolling....hope you had fun!

I can feel the difference in build quality between the 6D and 500D, but at the same time, the 6D feels closer to the 500D in my opinion, than it does to the 7D. It feels plastic-y and cheap to me.

If you think I'm trolling, you're entitled to your opinion I suppose, even if it's wrong.

If it's one's opinion over another, there is disagreement but no wrong answer when the opinions are subjective.

I'm staying away from this argument How we feel a camera in our hands is largely subjective.
In this thread I put a bunch effort into proving that the AF system, while not as awesome as the 5DIII, is still more capable than some claimed here. But that was different.

The feel of a camera in someone's hand is not exact science, it's very subjective, so I'll just sit this one out

Misunderstanding on my part -- I thought you were referring to the feel of the camera, not the trolling part.

Lol, yea, plasticky... ok then. You do know that it's made of the exact same materials as your 7D, with the exception being the top plate (which is only touched by your index finger)?

Isn't the 6D aluminum? I'm not on anyone's side here, just asking...
