VERY BRIGHT and early Sunday morning at the beach. I wanted a foreground that wasn't just the ocean so I went behind the dunes. The sea oats are nearly wiped out for the season so I had to find the best I could and go with it. There was only about 10 minutes to shoot so no time to move around for variety. I prefocused on some clouds to avoid looking into the viewfinder.

Thanks Eric. It was visible on the east coast but this was about as good as it got. To see totality you would have had to be in a boat east of here.

Great shot. I'm still a bit bummed that I couldn't make it out to shoot it.

I noticed a shot in the Formula 1 race Sunday morning in Abu Dhabi that looked like a partial eclipse. The sun was setting in Abu Dhabi. Was there a partial eclipse there, or just a coincidence?

I saw that too. one of the announcers almost said something about it, but I think he got nervous he was wrong. it's also in the second photo here:

Heya,

Nice shot, in my neck of the woods I couldn't see it unfortunately. Love the overall image you captured.

Very best,

Thanks very much everyone. The 2017 eclipse will be total here, I'm planning to get some filtration for that and use my Sky 90. Plenty of time for planning that one.
