Neosho Falls, KS

This is the high school or what remains of it. It was originally built in 1939 and was abandoned in 1969.

Neosho Falls was founded in 1857, but when the railroad to it, moved away, the town floundered until finally in 1951 a massive flood all but destroyed the town. The population has dwindled down over the years to where's it at now, which is around 200.

This is a rare candid smile from my 14 year old grandson. Usually, he's hamming it up in front of the camera.

How heavy was the rain? I thought these things were supposed to be pretty resiliant, not to mention the video where the guy throws it down a flight of stairs, freezes it in a block of ice, sets it on fire and it still worked???

It was not a hard rain, but it was somewhat steady. The back of the camera just got too much exposure, but I was surprised the camera kicked out. It was the best spot I ever had for a Spartan game...perfect for photo buffs. Once it dried out it was functional again. It was my mistake not to read the directions pointing out the little hole in the plastic that goes around the eyepiece (take the eyepiece off and reattach it after lining up the hole over the eyepiece). Had I done it right, the back end would not have been exposed. Lesson learned.

Maybe you all can help me with this issue, though it's not camera related. Whenever I get something in a picture that is dark, I get the noise looking blocks? If that's what they're called. I can't see them in Lightroom, but once uploaded to Facebook or Flickr, they appear.

Am I doing something wrong? Is it the compression they use? I was thinking MAYBE it's because they aren't displaying the image at 100% so with it being in smaller resolutions it appears pushed together. Kind of like a smaller image can look sharper than one that is at full resolution? If that makes sense?

Here's the photo:

I think the blocks are just scaffolding around the monument. ;)

Really, I dont see anything abnormal on my screen. What monitor are you using?

Haha should have been expecting that one.

I'm not sure of the model. I'm not in front of it right now, but it's one of the HP, HD ones.
